DefconServers (www.defconservers.com) is currently looking for talented individuals to join its support team.
We are seeking individuals that have prior experience with either server, game server, or voice server administration.
Junior System Administrator
Individual will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of RH Linux and Windows-based servers running multiple versions of Windows 2000 and Windows 2003. Applicants must be able to work independently with occasional early morning or late night hours. Maintenance tasks include, but are not limited to the defragmentation, setup, patching, and scanning of systems. Experience with Apache, IIS, FTP, SQL, PHP, SQL, NAV, IPSEC, IPtables, and other security topics is desired but not required. Position reports to Senior System Administrator. Depending on experience, position may also include duties of Game/Voice Support Technician.
Game/Voice Support Technician
Individual will be responsible for assisting customers with a variety of support requests via Ventrilo and Support Desk Tickets. Support includes the installation, patching, and troubleshooting of game or voice programs offered by DefconServers. Applicants must have previous knowledge of Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and at least three of the applications offered on the website. Individual must be able to work independently and have fairly flexible work hours. Experience with batch scripting, RH Linux, and previous Customer Service experience is desired but not required. Position answers to Administrative Staff.
In addition to experience, applicants for either position must posess a reliable broadband internet connection and headset. Individuals must be motivated, able to work in a team environment, and work independently/unsupervised. Applicants will undergo a two to four week training/probation period. During this time applicants will work with existing staff members, meet clients, and learn company policies and procedures.
