If Anyone is even consider getting a server with Serverpronto.com
(an infolink subsideary)

DONT DONT DONT DONT DONT get a server!!

I am speaking on behalf of myself, not the original account holder (I administrated the box)

The account holder was charged for a re-image fee ($69) when it was solely 100% ServerPronto's fault and they openly admitted it.

We went from running DirectAdmin (Which is a really good Control Panel aside from Plesk 7x reloaded) and changed to cPanel, Serverpronto informed me and the account holder on the phone that they would do it just like a normal server upgrade and NO EXTRA charge would be added onto his account.

They installed cPanel, we logged into WHM, as well as SSH, in ssh there was a dir where a custom compiled kernel existed, while setting up WHM it asked to turn on Quotas, I did so and the box crashed. We put in a ticket for support (all previous tickets took 24-48hrs to even get a notation that they recieved it and are looking/working on it) so a day went by and we got tired of waiting called, and spoke to a CSR. The customer service rep stated that they were looking into it, and it wouldnt be until 3am that it would get fixed due to the tech coming into work. We asked him numerous times to ensure NO charges would be added to the account being it wasnt our fault that the box crashed, he assured us that there wouldnt be one. they said it was more then likely a fault on their behalf because of the 'mess up'.

They re-imaged the drive, built a custom kernel, enabled quotas and billed the account holder ($69 for the re-image, and $40 right off the bat for cPanel even tho billing cycle for the next month didnt start until the 4th of Oct.)

We ordered another server elsewhere, yesterday and lastnite we setup cPanel fully and WHM, as well as everything else. We currently are STILL having problems with cPanel, and i am having to send in trouble tickets because i dont want to deal with SP, and their BS charges.

My advice to anyone looking into a server, do a full indepth look at a company before signing on.. also.. if you pay for cheap sh~t, you get CHEAP sh~t!

Serverpronto.com is a JOKE. dedicated server lookers beware!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Serverpronto has high setup fees, high per ticket support fees and a network that is listed on a couple spam block lists.

That said, I've had a box with them for about 10 months now and its going fine (current uptime ~73 days). Of course I use this for various backup and side project purposes and wouldnt want to host customer sites there.

all seemed to go well up until we actually asked for something from Serverpronto themselves. We had an uptime of 31 days, asked for cPanel and everything went to sh~t. now we barely can keep a 4day uptime without having to reboot the box because of an issue.
