I've been talking to a provider in Ashburn. They are more expensive than most, however, they are in Equnix there.

They claim this is worth extra money because the facility is just that much better than other providers.

Any thoughts? Is this really true or just some marketing hype?

Is being with a provider that is in an Equinix facility worth paying extra?

I have found the Equinix facility here in Los Angeles to be a great one, and could only imagine that the one in Ashburn would be the same. Their facility is the best I have ever been in, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

With Equinix, you do pay a much higher price than you would with anyone else, but I feel that it is worth it.

Equinix is a great facility. It is definitly a good choice. You know the DC wont be going out of biz soon also you have many choices in expanding as well as different carriers.

Are you in 600 w. 7th or 818? Just curious. :)

he isn't in the facility, he has been there before. He is in peer1. I may be wrong, but to me it seems he was saying he has viewed the datacenter before.

I live near LA, but do remote work for XeoComm. Xeo is located in Peer 1, but I used to work for someone who had servers located in Equinix LA.

I believe it was the 600w and 7th location, but I can't remember for sure. It was over a year ago that I last went.

you said you are talking to a provider of equinix in ashburn? would it happen to be defenderhosting.com . cuz if it is, ill tell you, they are the best. I HIGHLY recommend if you want a box in equinix in ashburn to use defenderhosting.

Equinix has some awesome facilities.

Any equinix facility will be quite nice from a facility standpoint. I would concern myself more with who will be managing the server, a simple equinix colo would be horrible if your contact with access is not available 24/7.

In other words, do the proper research on the provider with whom you've been speaking. I personally would not trust a small colocator if that is what they are.
