Hello,

I have a Red Hat server v. 6.2 with Plesk installed and running Php, mysql etc. I have also got Tomcat installed, but i am still unable to enable it. I want to offer tomcat servlet hosting to few clients. How do i configure it. I saw the tomcat site, but i dont dare to experiment, since my server contains a lot of sites and i do not want to take any risk with them.

Does anybody have any experiencein doing such a thing ? I need some advice and experience if possible.

Thanx for your help guys.

I'm experimenting with Resin which is apparently more stable and much faster. http://www.caucho.com I believe.

I gave up on Tomcat, to complicated to install.

I'll second the fact that Tomcat is a pain, we use Apache JServ as it is easier to setup and maintain. They made tomcat to complicated by generating the config files with XML on the fly and then having to have it included in the httpd.conf.

We have tried Apache Tomcat, JServ, Allaire JRun, iPlanet w/ Weblogic & Resin and decided to go for Resin, as it was much faster and more stable than many others.
