View Full Version : Great Reseller Host in 25$ per month
Intelle 09-30-2004, 06:03 AM Hello Friends!
I was wondering if I coukd get a good reseller hosting in 25$ per month for 6 months? I wanna pay monthly. I need really quality stuff, 24/7 support is a must, if possible a billing manager & some other good scripts. 99.9% uptime, good & fast servers is what I need the reseller to be hosted on. I need as much space & bw as I can get in it with too much overselling. :) The company should be well known.
Please suggest me something good. :) If possible point me to some experiences. :) Thanks a lot in advance.

UnifiedNet 09-30-2004, 08:13 AM Intelle I am impressed that you are raising your budget, although you are asking for the same situiation!
You want alot of space and bw for a little amount of money!
Lower your expectations a little bit and you will be more than happy!
The biggest thing I don't understand is that people keep asking for all of these figures... "I want 50 g's of storage and 500 gigs of bandwidth but will not go over 25 - 35 a month" The funny thing is that when we add a reseller from a "low budget" host we ask them their usage, guess what... nothing over 2g's off storage and if your lucky 10 g's of bw!
Good Luck
Intelle 09-30-2004, 08:50 AM Thanks a lot UnifiedNet! :) Sorry, U got me wrong. :) I meant I want the most amount of space & bandwidth I can get in 25$ without overselling too much (I don't oversell but according to what I've read a bit of overselling is ok), like whatever is the highest with good features. :D

How poetic ;)
Intelle 09-30-2004, 10:31 AM :blushes: lol, Thanks a lot UnifiedNet! lol. :) This is what I decided for now: I'll go with HostGator, their reviews are great. The only complaint is of their support, but I dunno maybe I'm lucky or something but I keep asking them lots of general questions & they've been replying them instantly (the maximum time was less than a minute). :)
So I think quality comes first, price second! And HostGator is No. 1 where quality is talked of. This is what I've realised after being here on these forums. :)

joshuayip 10-01-2004, 04:00 AM Thanks to me for the recommendation ... =)

Intelle 10-01-2004, 04:28 AM Anytime Joshua. lol :)
webscott 10-01-2004, 02:23 PM It looks liek you need a hosting env with integrated billing for your customers? In that case I'd reccomend using H-Sphere as it has integrated billing and support area. That price is kind of low, if you are looking to host under 10 sites that might be good enough, but it is on the low side.
cms0003 10-01-2004, 04:47 PM I recommend reseller-center.com. The service includes Hsphere, which has great online support. I pay $25/m, and I can handle up to 15 billable accounts (including unlimited domains). This service also offers either unix or windows servers...You should check them out.
MagicBobert 10-01-2004, 07:55 PM I would also vouch for Host Gator. I've been with them for about a month now and they have had rock solid uptime, fast connectivity, and a great deal with 5 gigs of space and 50 gigs of transfer, free shared ssl, etc. I've been very pleased with my month of service and it's right in your price range of $24.95 I believe. I would take a look and see if they're still running their 5/50 deal.
Anyway, enough preaching for my host :stickout:
Once you get up to $20 a month of so you'll start to get quality service. I was previously with Seraphex (which was taken over by Affordable Host, I switched because tickets when unanswered for weeks) and only paid $15 a month. I got a great deal, uptime was good, plenty of space and bandwidth. However, Seraphex only owned a single box and was transferred from one guy running the business to another single guy finally to Affordable Host. Smaller companies can offer better deals, but they can't offer the business stability that a larger company (which charges slightly more) can give you.
Trust me, spend a little more now and you'll save yourself a whole lot of headache and frustration later.

EDIT: I just remember, Host Gator offers WHM Autopilot for free if you request it after you sign up. That'll take care of billing for you.
Intelle 10-01-2004, 10:36 PM Hmm.... I'm so confused! lol HostGator or Turnkey. I think I'll get an account with both!
you can also try x1services.com who does provide a billing manager too.
Intelle 10-01-2004, 11:20 PM Yeah. I saw them too. But somehow they do not suit my needs. Thanks though.
joshuayip 10-02-2004, 04:09 AM I would like to enquire, what is it with the H-Sphere billable accounts concept? How does this work? 15 billable accounts means you can only bill 15 ppl , which technically should mean you can only open business and cater for 15 ppl ?
Joshua
Intelle 10-02-2004, 07:15 AM Yes, Joshua. I think that's what it means. :)
joshuayip 10-02-2004, 10:57 AM Are you sure? Then what good is the meaning of unlimited domains when actually you can bill only 15 ppl ?
Joshua
You can host unlimited domains but only 15 paying domains :)

netrage 10-02-2004, 08:43 PM From the looks of their plans there HAS to be some overselling going on.. I mean really....
Reseller 6
32,000MB Web Space
Unmetered Monthly Transfer
Unlimited Email Accounts/Alias/Forwarders
Unlimited mySQL Databases
Unlimited Ftp Accounts
Unlimited Sub domains
Support for scripts of PHP, Perl, CGI
Server support CURL & GD Extensions!
cPanel 9.x For Customers – WHM for resellers hosting manager!
Domain names registration service with SI hosting.
$64.95 Per Month
Right there tells me this is a host that should be avoided... any host that offers "unlimited" bandwidth or disk space....is overselling and one has to question if they will be able to keep up with the eventual problems of server overloading due to that.
I was going to say that as well. But maybe they have something in their TOS that prevents usage of above a certain GB in a day or something.
Intelle 10-02-2004, 09:54 PM Unlimited means a NO! NO! NO! That's the golden rule. :)
X1-Darin 10-03-2004, 05:38 PM Just because I saw our name in here I dropped by.
Also, unmetered is different then unlimited. Unmetered normally means you can transfer as much as you want at a particular speed.
IE- Some datacenters give you a 10mbps unmetered connection. (Push as much as you can at 10mbps cap). So this host may limit your connection speed. This is bad if you get a lot of just peak traffic but works if you have a steady stream.
itstech 10-03-2004, 06:59 PM I would really question a provider who offers 32 GB disk space for that price. Especially if they allow overselling by resellers.
On my cluster (4 Servers) for every 1GB of web space, at least 2GB of NAS/Backup space would be used to run proper backups. Does this 32GB plan do daily/weekly backups? I wonder.
