Rigth now I am running a pop3 but would al´so like imap access to my server.

Which one would you guys recomend?

The server is running debian linux with no control panel.

Try Courier MTA or UW Imap

i like courier-imap, i use it with qmail

Courier IMAP is nice and has a small footprint. Stable and feature rich too. It does supports the IDLE command to notify connected clients of new mail (rather than having the client poll the mailbox). That's why I chose it. Maybe UW's does it too...

Comes with a POP3 server as well so you can use the same authentication module for both services.
