I suggest rackmy.com be nonminated because their customers have posted threads recommending them not complaining, which is rare. ( though cbaker had them in the past too! but he won last time. )

I second RackMy.com - Mike is always helping others out, and answering questions in a friendly manner...

anyways, I'd nominate cperciva, because his comments are always on-topic and very useful.

Not really a flame...
I thought members of the month were supposed to be the most helpful on the board... BurstNET always posts in regards to his company, whether answering questions or defending it. I've never seen him recommend a different host or give input on another one.

That was the original requestor's reasoning for wanting BurstNET added.

Absolutely no flaming intended.
but does that mean that "members of the month" stands for "most entertaining contributor"?

Anyway, I'd be inteested in an accurate definition. Times' definition of "Man of the year" for instance is -loosely phrased- "somebody who will have great impact on peoples' lives". For example Hitler was man of the year.

One Web describes a Member of the Month as "a member of the month is someone that helps out a lot. someone that makes WHT fun with their jokes ect."

He is the one that started it here (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24036).

Although, never endorsed by WHT (as far as I know) it proves to be an entertaining thread in it's own.

Maybe we need a thread to vote on what makes a Member of the Month a Member of the Month. IMO it's One Web's project. It's meant for entertainment and maybe some personal recognition. Whatever One Web does with it is just fine with me.

Hey guys, I can speak for myself. ;)

The reason I nominated BurstNET was because they (or rather, their failed router) did more to enliven the forum than anything else which occured in December. The nomination was somewhat fueled by a prize awarded annually at my old university "to the author of the most controversial published research paper". (Past winners include a paper which discussed the health benefits of smoking and a paper which argued that publicly-funded abortion services should be provided "in order to act as a politically acceptable eugenics program".)

But since that episode has long since faded from general awareness, I'm not sure that the nomination makes sense any further; still, there's no harm done in leaving it on the ballot.

The months are from the 20th to the 20th of the next month. So from December 20th to January 20th. It takes 3 days for nomination and 7 days for selecting the winner.

Who ever nominates makes the nomination for what ever they think the member of the month should mean. It usually is for someone you think has done something good this month, who ever is worth getting recognized for what ever reason.

Don't recall ever asking you to....

Don't worry, I feel the same way about you...
Never met you though...so maybe I should watch what I say before I open my big mouth to offend someone I have never met or done business with, and really don't know anything about.
