I am looking for a database (preferably web-based (i have hosting already)) that would do the following:
I work in insurance as a broker and I have to be able choose insurance markets to send business to. For example, some markets will write apartments, some won't. Some will write contractors, some won't. Some will write apartments, but no elderly housing, etc.I would like to be able to input the exposure (such as apartments, logging, pharmaceutical products, residential contractors, bridge building, etc.) and then input what markets write that kind of exposure.It is difficult to remember what markets like what type of risk...since there are tons of markets out there. That way I could just look up all companies that like to write a certain risk....and not have to guess or think about who does what. This would make life easier. It would need to be easy to update, as markets change what they like to write all the time.
Basically the companies and then what type risks they will write.
Such as:
ABC Insurance Company:
Apartments
Product liability
Logging equipment
Road contractors
DEF Insurance Company:
Railroad contractors
Residential Contractors
Builders Risk
HIJ Insurance Company:
Elderly housing apartments
Shopping Center
Restaurant chains
etc. etc.etc.
For further example:
I need to be able to type in "restaurants" and it list all of the companies that will write restaurants.
I need to be able to type in "apartments" and it will list all of the companies that will write apartments.
I can also type in ABC Insurance Company and it list everything that they like to write.
It will also need to be able to show only property likes, general liability likes, umbrella likes, package likes. In other words, some companies will write the property coverage for apartments but will NOT write the general liability or umbrella coverage for them. Some will only write the umbrella and nothing else.
