So, Anyone have an experience of say, 2 or 3 people going in on a Rackshack server or other DS?

Seems like a good idea, three poeple go in on a AMD 1ghz, each get 100 gigBW, 10 gig HD, comes to be about $40 a month & $100 sign up.

What a deal.

Be great to have some whiz kid go in to help out w/ maintenance and software installs, support ...

Thats why people buy shared hosting. I'm sure a situation like the one you propose has worked out for a few people (friends?), but for the most part, it's unfeasable for lots of reasons. Maybe it will work out for you though, I wish you luck!

People offer this in the Related Offers & Request Forum and/or the Web Hosting Offers Forum from time to time. Check through a few days in each forum and you'll probably run into an offer like this.

Why share a server? There are other options like Virtual Private Servers. You get the benefit of a dedicated at a lower cost and you don't have to share root with strangers.
