View Full Version : Disappointed in BurstNET :(
NinthSwat 01-19-2002, 08:50 PM Hi folks.
First of all I’d like to say that I was very happy with them. But a week ago I get some problems with my server. I tried to contact them about my problem via tickets, but with no luck. I also contacted them over AIM about status of my tickets and always get reply like "OK, I we will look into your ticket soon". No replies still in the ticket. I contacted again them over AIM. No replies again.
Then I can't see BurstNET online in the AIM. I wait a day. BurstNET was never online. But before they always were. Then I changed my login and found that they are online. Changed login to previous no one online. Change to new - BurstNET online - And I realized that I have been simply banned :((.
That makes very and very upset and disappointed in BurstNET.
Now I'm thinking to change the host.
I know that Sean R. is a regular visitor of WHT, maybe he can clarify me about situation.
BurstNET 01-20-2002, 01:45 AM If our staff banned you on AIM, there must have been good reason for that.
If you email me at sean@burst.net though, with fulls details, I will look into the matter for you.

SonServer 01-20-2002, 02:56 AM This is only my second post on this forum but I've been reading here for a few weeks.
I know that many people don't like these Burst threads but I've been reading them with interest. I think one part is human nature. It's like a bad accident . . . you don't want to see it, but you can't help but look as you go by.
I was a growing reseller looking for a dedicated server and was VERY close to signing up with Burst. I had talked with them on the phone a few times, thought their prices looked fair, and was ready to order. The day I was going to order the server, I had one more question so I tried to call. No answer and the machine was full and not taking messages. No e-mail response either.
That one episode was not enough to make me run, but it was enough to make me question, and I started looking again. I soon found Derek at http://intensehost.com I asked him all sorts of "stupid" questions and they were always answered politely and professionally. I've been with them for over three months now and am very happy. As I'm a newbie to dedicated servers, Derek has gone above and beyond for me. I plan to repay that with loyalty and continued business as I hopefully grow to need additional servers.
I see these Burst threads and how the standard response is "it's your own fault that we treat you badly, and you deserve every bit of it". I'm so thankful that they never did answer my questions that day, or I would have my server there and I'm sure I would deserve to be treated badly too.
Derek is working on rebuilding his site right now and last I looked, his dedicated page is not finished, but if you really are looking, and want to be treated well, give him a call or e-mail, I've sure been impressed with the level of professional service I've received.

Was that a direct quote?
Really? Where exactly?
Don't think you'll find such...
What part of:
"If you email me at sean@burst.net though, with fulls details, I will look into the
matter for you."
...did you not understand?
I thought that was pretty direct to the point that we are willing to assist him and look into the matter for him.
Please be careful before posting...I highly doubt you would like it if such a unjust post was made about your company.

Dedicated 01-20-2002, 08:58 AM burst.net = excellent customer support on the phone
I have phoned them regarding a problem and was resolved while on the phone which is a lot better than other provider.

Hi, I'm fully agreed with you. BurstNET was good and over AIM for me. I had many problems that were solved really fast by AIM support (he just put a tech on my box). Expect my last problem. Maybe they just cannot solve it or what? What makes them to put me in their ignore list? I was not spamming over AIM, just asked about status of my tickets twice a day. And I always asked the AIM tech “ When should I contact you next time?”

Sean, can ask your techs about there reason? And post it here? I want to know what I have done wrong.
michaeln 01-20-2002, 11:33 AM I agree, if you can get Burst.net on the phone or AIM their support is great. Problems are usually fixed within minutes. The problem comes when you try to get email support. It could go for days or longer.
I think they just need to hire some more help, but that is just my opinion.

That is such BS. You clalim that you have banned this guy from support and you have a reason for it? If he pays his bills, then you should fvking support him.

Not a very nice thing for a competitor to say...especially considering you have never been a BurstNET client. Seems you like to host-bash...as I have looked at your other posts...

Not a compeitior. I don't offer dedicated hosting. You're right, I am not a BurstNet client and never will be. My comment was concerning "your" comment that the poster somehow was being penalized for some obscure reason that you did not specify (leading me to believe you had no idea what you were talking about) ... and that was the reason why he wasn't getting support. That sounds presumptious of you, and suggests that you are assuming the readers on this board have the intellect of a 10 or 11 year old. Adults do not buy such bunk.
Wishing it away will do you no good. Until compaines, such as yours begin serving their customers with the respect they deserve, forums like this will always be filled with people like me who opine honestly about our experiences.
Just my .02 cents.
BurstNET 01-22-2002, 01:41 AM << honestly about our experiences. >>
You have no experience with BurstNET...hence the point I was trying to make...and why you had no right/reason to make such a comment. And yes, you are a BurstNET competitor...I went to your site.
