View Full Version : ImageReady Animation: New Frame As Opposed To Duplicate Frame *Urgent*

Hi,
I am trying to make an animated gif in ImageReady (CS).

I have some text on a background, that text fades in then fades out. That works fine, i just changed the opacity levels on each frame.

But, after the text had faded I want to replace the text with another sentence which will again, fade in, then fade out.

The only problem I have is that when i insert a new frame, it duplicates the frame before, therefore when I go to delete the text from the frame before which has been inserted in the new duplicated frame, it deletes the text in all the frames before.

How can I have a new frame where I can delete the previous text in the new frame and insert my new text without it deleting all the text in the other frames?

Any help would be great.

What I do is make all the variations of text their own layers in photoshop. For example, when I want to fade text, I create a layer of that text with an opacity of 100%, then I duplicate the layer and set this one at 75%, then another at 50%, etc (you can do more too, like 100, 80, 60, 40, etc).

Then I jump over to Image Ready - Frame one has the layer turned on that has the text at 100. Then I duplicate frame, turn off that layer, and turn on the layer with 75. Then keep going until you hit zero, then in the next frame, turn on the next text layer, etc.

I knew it would be that simple. Thanks PlaneWalker, I will give it a try now.
