View Full Version : Everyone is bad ! Everyone has problem ! ???
Hello
I was looking at topics in dedicated forum and saw different articles that claim every service provider and datacenter has serious problems.
* RackShack Holding Data Hostage... Ideas?
* pwebtech = pathetic, looking for new provider
* Problems at Burst.net
* The Truth about RackShack Bandwidth
* ...
So what if someone wants to start a really good service.
As I heared pwebtech is in NAC.NEt which is one of the most reliable datacenters yet my site was down for many hours today.
Burst.net had serious down time problems last mounth.
Rackshack is one of the best dedicated providers.
What if you want to purchase a small server? Which want ill you prefer.

Annette 01-19-2002, 05:08 PM If your site was down for hours today and it's at NAC, it wasn't NAC itself - all our servers there have been accessible all day. If they weren't, we'd certainly have heard from our clients there.
For your other point, everybody has problems. WHT tends to draw more bad comments than good, like anywhere else, since people are more apt to tell more people about bad things than good. Depressing, really, but that's human nature. It doesn't mean that any of the providers you've listed in your post are any better or worse than another or that present problems are indicative of some long term unresolved issues.
Incognito 01-19-2002, 05:57 PM To affirm the Annette's post. You do hear predominately the bad news and many customers are quite satisfied with their customers. By the way....did you local TV station report today on all the houses which didn't catch fire, or did your newspaper list all the people who were not in automobile accidents. Even more extreme, did they have a section for all the people who did not die to offset the obituaries?
And you have to be the judge as to the total reviews of a host...and the frequency of problems. This board like many can be a bit harsh. However, there are mixed reviews on most hosts. As to starting a really good host----there are many quality NOC's, some new, some old. However, none perfect.
percent5 01-19-2002, 06:00 PM NOT everyone is bad. You only mention three companies (which I'm not necessarily conceeding are bad).
There are several very good companies out there, and if you search the forums enough, you'll find them ;)

Unhappy customers are anything but silent.

This is actually a pretty good analogy. I'll have to use that one...
HRBrendan 01-20-2002, 09:20 AM This is very very true. The holy grail is to figure out how to keep the last .5% happy.

Alan - Vox 01-20-2002, 09:57 AM Maybe the answer isnt to try and keep them happy, but make sure your not likely to get the complaining type customers in the first place.

That sounds like something Communitech.net would do.
