Also, it appears(not 100% sure,) that they are resellers for hostroute.com Chicken 01-19-2002, 04:46 PM Originally posted by davidb Also, it appears(not 100% sure,) that they are resellers for hostroute.com It is actually another less expensive side of hostroute (operated by same company), for different market. I only know as I saw a post about this on FWS recently where it was explained. Was in the Web Hosting Offers forum *there* if you can to read about it more. Carm 01-20-2002, 11:19 AM stay away? or is it worth a shot? davidb 01-20-2002, 12:37 PM Here are the results of a search of it in the webhosting forum http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=224444&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending Id also do a search on the whole forum if those posts are not enough. If hostroute seems good, then you have might as well give it a shot, if it seems a little iffy and you still want to go with it, pay by months if you can. Chicken 01-20-2002, 01:09 PM I've never read anything to indicate why you shouldn't try it. Here's some info... http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=366 -and as was mentioned already he runs hostroute.com and nameroute.com GordonH 02-04-2002, 12:05 PM Myqth.com is to Hostroute.com as Hostsave.com is to Affinity.net. Same company, different service, different servers. Just looked at last months data transfer stats and our largest user was 3GB so I would not say that we are overtaxing the equipment or the lines. Gordon aplus 02-04-2002, 08:14 PM Remember the saying: you get what you pay for. That's a saying that has a lot of validity in this industry. Peter :) p.s.: consume 30GBs per month and see what they do. GordonH 02-05-2002, 09:55 AM Originally posted by aplus p.s.: consume 30GBs per month and see what they do. I think you misunderstand. This is not unlimited bandwidth. Anyone hosting with us has a contract with us and we agree to provide up to that limit of data transfer per month. If they use it we have to provide it. As to whether or not we will disappear, that brand has existed for a while. It still gets very few sign ups. It makes a profit. Like all businesses it will erxist as long as it makes a profit. Gordon char0811 03-29-2002, 06:18 PM Looks good.... Snow White 03-30-2002, 12:30 PM I used myqth for a year before I switched to vehost (crap) because my plan with myqth couldn't support my site's requirements. Then I realised they upgrade their account and I got another hosting with them. I supposed they are ok, I didn't have much problem with them. I wasn't happy when they move a colocation server and then send email to me about it, I lost my recently updated files then. Apart from that, my experience is not too bad. Actually, their old plan was same price for 1GB and 100MB, my site overshot the 1GB limit in 10 days and Myqth gave me an additional 1GB for free, which I overshot again within another 10 days and they gave me 2 more GB (total 4GB/mth) , other host will want u to pay for that. Gordo 04-02-2002, 09:03 AM If the features are what you need, then myqth is likely to be a very fine choice for the money. I've had a little 'domain plus' account thru the associated company for eight months and it's been well worth the small amount I paid. Downtime about zero. You'll not get as many bells and whistles as a $20/month service, but I think you'll get what is listed. IMO, it's a super buy if you need a ton of space or bandwidth, and a solid selection otherwise. (I first noticed the company because of our similiar user names, but I'm just a customer) |
