What are the 3 most common questions from your customers?

The answer could be:
1-How do I set permissions?
2-My site is down what is wrong?
3-I have deleted my index.htm, where can I find a backup?

I can't send mail.
I can't get mail.
How do I <insert question> in the control panel?
Can you set up <insert script name> for me?

Hmmm, I just realized I ask these too... *yikes*

Three? Lets see...

Since we get lots of newbies...

How do I and/or whats FTP?
How do I set up my email?

And my personal favorite is...

The server seems slow today, is something wrong? The answer most likely is yes, just nothing with our server. Could be your network connection or any number of other factors.

Most of that stops within the first few weeks. :) It doesn't really bother us but sometimes its funny when you get these questions and the instructions are on your web site. We always answer the emails on how to do it and at the end say "All of this information is available on our web site if you ever need it again."

:D

Well yes FAQs are important but as a customer I wouldnt like to search an enormous FAQ to find what I am looking for, I would like to send an email with my question, do you then send them to your FAQ page or do you answer the email, how do they take it when you say "See our FAQ on...", maybe they would think the service is bad (maybe beacause they already have read the FAQ and understood nothing), the 10 most asked questions could be placed in a FAQ then, that would be better maybe, or are the FAQs really being used very often (maybe by more experienced users), as newbies would only know what an email is and not what a FAQ is, and maybe they misunderstand the FAQ word too :)

http://forums.dixiesys.com/ (excuse the stock out of the boxness of phpBB but I just haven't had time to do much more than set it up)

"Frequently Asked Questions - Answered"

Only admins can post there, I point users to that area several times a day, typical reply is "THANKS that solved it" I always say "if that doesn't get you going let me know" and no one's complained yet.

Well we are a relatively new host, so we have not gotten many of the same questions yet...thankfully :)

Dixie's idea is good though I would personally rather have that in a FAQ than as part of the forums.

PS: You should try phpBB2, it looks much nicer ;)

Well, all I said was "Do you understand what you are buying" and he said that he thought he was buying a server for his home with service....but we talked things out and all was fine...i just couln't believe it...in our office we have the email printed on a large poster and the caption reads....Are You Sure Your Ready For Customer Service Today? :)
