Hello, I've just been looking around for a website or free ware programm to create flash intros on the fly (without need of macromedia stuff knowledge). Could you please tell me if you know any websites or freeware programs around which offer something like this?

Yes, I did already search with Google and also at Download.com but I did not find anything good.

Thanks!

well, this is not what i was looking for :-) arent there any websites which offer sort of "forms to fill out" and then creates the flash spash or intro automatically with the chosen template? something like "flashblaster.com" but... better looking? thanks again!

Sorry, I've come across some of those sites during my searches but the fact that I didn't even bother to write the url's down says enough.

Most of those "online flash creating" devices cost $$ and produce horrible results. The ones that are free produce results that you shouldn't even be exposed to ;)

And if they're free they often produce some friggin "created by" text splattered all over your flashy intro/button/template which kinda looks unprofessional. (which ofcourse it is, so no complaining there..)

Every time I find one of those sites that I think is the best there is some catch :(

if there is anything that did create flash intros on the fly it would probably be pretty average........

I used to be big on flash, but know I think it just a waste of time......and I cant click on the "skip intro" buttons fast enough.......

Although if you want a basic intro it does not take too long to pick up the flash basics......

But intros aren't among them -- and certainly not any so generic that could be produced this way.

Hybrid sites with Flash navigation in html pages can be effective, for example; though "can be effective" certainly doesn't mean that they [i]always[/] are worthwhile -- like everything else they can be done badly. Flash banner ads are usually pretty worthless, and there are a lot of times where Flash is used to do something that could be done easier and with less load time by taking another route -- I've seen some Flash stuff that doesn't offer anything that couldn't be done with an animated gif! On the other hand, my company is working now on a site for a client's internal use that will incorporate a Flash front end interface to a MySQL database. There'd be other ways to do it, but for the particular application and client Flash is appropriate.

So if the lack of a source for a "Flash intro in 2 minutes" means there are fewer Flash intros, I'm in favor of that lack. Unless you're constructing a site that's going to be something like a showcase of web design techniques that were cool in 1998. In that case you should definitely have a Flash intro.

hi, thanks for your suggestions. I have to make a new website for a new product (food). the target is about 40+ and european. I'm sure that this site needs a flash intro... it will be the only one out of about 50 projects i made which will get one... but i've no flash skills.... cheers!

(Hey, not my opinion, I'm just trying to follow the thinking! :) )

Seriously, the best route to take probably is to use Swish. It wouldn't be much more complicated than the kind of stuff done on those free flash sites, and even with little experience you could probably do something that looks a little better than those, and more original. If you're doing it for a client you don't want somebody else to have the exact same thing because they used the same site.

Or, just post in the related offers forum and you'll probably find someone to do one for you for practically nothing.

Are you talking about making a 2 minute flash intro or making one is 2 minutes?

Any flash intro over 30 seconds is too long in my opinion.

JayC, sorry i did not want to be offensive, too... just to clearify that there is no need to discuss if an intro is good or bad.... coz... i need one and that's all.

I'll follow your suggestion... and try to play around ;)

cheers!

p.s. I'm talking about making one in 2 minutes... and not one of 2 minutes BIG ;)
