Upgraded my local machine with the latest and greatest kernel (2.4.17) but my eth0 connection wont restart or even start on bootup
"Delaying eith0 initialization"
Other then that, it was my first successful kernel upgrade :D
Make sure you compile everything corresponding your NIC.
Does your NIC use Tulip? Most likely it does. Check your .config file and make sure Tulip is set for M.
If you're using redhat, you can check the .c filename for your NIC so you can compile it manually.
This is the tulip entry.
CONFIG_TULIP=m

Ok, figured it out, recomplied and eth0 is back online, but i am worried that i am not installing alot of required modules (great example is the nic card)
Suggestions?
Does anyone have a pre-set config file i can "work" off of? :)
what exactly can i go off of? i mean, looking at the .config file in the root, theres quite a few entries, and the graphical interface really hides most of it.....
What's your e-mail? I can send it to you.
