I am about to move all of my customers off of my servers with Alabanza due to the drastic increase in prices and my dissatisfaction with the service I have been receiving. I am looking for the easiest way to move the clients to a new solution, minimizing downtime and keeping the same features, etc. This does not mean I am looking for a cheap way out, I realize this is probably going to cost me some money.

My question is: Does anyone have (or is anyone interested in creating) a solution that would automate the moving of sites from Alabanza to another server similar to the tool that Alabanza just created to move accounts between Alabanza servers? Any ideas would be welcomed.

I was impressed with the current special at UltraSpeedUSA, and their control panel looks excellent. If the automated scripts could interface between Alabanza and UltraSpeedUSA, that would work well for me. Again, any other alternate services would be something I would consider.

Thanks.

FYI, we do have an automatic move script to convert accounts from Alabanza over 2 our servers :).

Just thought I'd drop that in there. Its by no means perfect and bugs are still getting hammered out. But It does help ease the burden of moving.

We just wrote a little shell script that tgz the home directory on our Ala server to site.tar.gz, grabbed the doamin_tld MySQL database. Then we did the same at the other end but it grabbed the site.tar.gz using lynx and the site.sql.tar.gz extracted them and we were sorted pretty quick.

We did email accounts by hand, but then again we didn't have many people to shift to our new server.
