View Full Version : Domain Parking: Review of DomainHop
mtsprogramming 09-24-2004, 03:53 PM I'm looking for the best place to park my traffic domains. Currently with DomainHop.
This is my Review of DomainHop.
They do not target the domains at all, they guess the topic by looking at the domain name instead of looking at the links in the search engine. There is NO auto-optimization of key-terms,
also there is no way to MANUALLY switch categories, so if they don't target a domain right, you have to email support, and lately the just don't do anything!
DomainHop is owned by Kanoodle.
Not worth using until they fix targeting, because you aren't going to get clicks until they target domains!
dmaven 09-24-2004, 04:02 PM kanoodle payouts are VERY low compared to google/overture. I think even with better targeting the payouts will not beat them
mtsprogramming 09-24-2004, 04:32 PM Yes, true, but don't they have a ONE MILLION HIT requirement?
Wondering what the best service is for the guy just starting out!
Also, Wonder how many domains you need to get Million Hits??

A lot of high traffic names you will need. They are also VERY picky on who they partner with
Bashar 09-25-2004, 02:55 AM check sedo or google adsense

I also have some domains parked at DomainHop, you CAN manualy change categories, just for the change to take effect some of their staff have to check it out first, usualy takes few ours, but for the large nuber of domains could be 24hrs or more.
The good sides of DH are that you can define your meta keywords and description, and also you can list your other domains (in the same category only I think).

how is the payout compared to the others?
enetwork 09-25-2004, 02:22 PM I would have to say the best parking service (which actually compares with having a direct deal with google) is DomainSponsor.com . I am doing over 5 figures in monthly commissions there with some of my personal domains and I can honestly say their optimization and landing page is the best I've seen.
The incredible thing is that they doubled my payouts in the last year alone with the same amount of traffic. They are always working to better their system.
Here's an example of one their landing pages http://www.consolidatedebt.com . Keep in mind I am simply re-directing the domain to the url they have assigned me. The take care of the rest.
The only drawback here is they approve you on a case by case basis so it's not a gaurantee you will get in. Still worth a try IMHO
mtsprogramming 09-25-2004, 03:51 PM Well, speaking of DomainHop.com, there entire system is down right now, which happens alot also. Which ALL of your domians are also down. 3:53 PM EST
mtsprogramming 09-25-2004, 03:54 PM DomainSponsor.com sounds good, but I like it when they add the "This Page is For Sale " Submit Bid. That way, you have a good chance of selling the domain!

I opened an account there--thanks for the info
Carl
(205 domaines)
PS - I had to truncate the URL in your post since I have fewer than five posts
enetwork 09-26-2004, 01:12 AM Good choice there Carl, I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.
I'll be getting a chance to meet most of the sponsors in person when I attend a domain conference next month www.targetedtraffic.com . I'll keep you all posted if you so wish if I find anything better. I know a few of the industry leaders will be there as well such as Paul S. CEO of enom, along with representatives of NSI and Tucows along with most of the domain traffic industry's heavy hitters. Should be an interesting week.

how is the payout compared to the others?
I can only compare it to SEDO, for me DH is way better. Because of the fact that my domains that have majority of the traffic are targeted by non-US visitors I can't really profit from PPC revenue, my CTR is low, some 1% or even lower. $4 RPM is however what makes it good for me.
But be careful, DH will pay you only one option, PPC OR RPM, whichever makes higher profit.
Bashar 09-29-2004, 06:42 AM so domainhop is better for non US traffic?
shomy 09-30-2004, 02:18 PM It seems to be. The apparently do not check the IP for the RPMs but only for PPC.
I heard on some other forum that SEDO does not count clicks from IPs that do not come from the places they expect them to come, but never seen the proof for this claim. Also there is the fact that my domains that have non US traffic have 0%CTR on sedo, in fact 0 clics...
