Any thoughts/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I'm new to Web hosting and trying to understand a few things.

1. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to purchasing your domain via a domain seller (like 000domains, stargate, registreyfly) as opposed to just purchasing it from a hosting vendor when I first purchase hosting services?

2. My hosting needs are not that significant (maybe 20 pages, 20 PDF files) and that about it. Any recommedations on hosting services?

3. Some Hosting services that I'm considering include:
- Sagemind.com
- Bizland.com
- fullservicehosting.com

Can anyone comment/have experience with the above?

Thanks for your help.

At Stargate and Registerfly you can redirect your domain for free.
And they are very cheap.

Then, if you want, you can use a free host.

Free hosts: hypermart.net freedom2surf.com virtualavenue.net digitalrice.com

Paid hosts: aletia.com and hostmatters.com

I think I'll skip the free hosting option. I don't mind paying a few bucks for the service, but the more you look the more confusing it all gets.

As "Newz" suggested, I checked out Aletia Hosting and I'm impressed with all the features that you get for $10.00 (most of which I'll probably never use). I especially like the Multi-domain hosting feature which will allow me to host my church web site and my brothers business site along with my own small business site, which is what I orignally set out to do.

The confusing part is that many sites use slightly different description to describe simular features, or when you find one site that sounds good, it's missing one thing that you saw at another site, and now I think that got to have it.

I've looked at packages from $3.00 to $20.00 per month, and several of them could fit the bill. It's just hard to make a decision when your new to this and don't understand all the reprocussions.

Thanks for your help
