I don't think this is a huge problem, but it's bothersome to me.

I've got a .org that was registered at Stargate. About a month or so ago I transferred it to GoDaddy It went through and is currently registered at GoDaddy... unfortunately, Stargate still thinks that it's registered there (and will be expiring soon)

Is this a problem?

This is quite common. many registrars do not update their systems when names are transferred away. Just contact stargate and tell them to remove the name from their system.

Make sure you don't have "auto renew" (if applicable) turned on over there (Stargate).

PM me the domain name. I'll make sure it is removed from your account.

Hi FrankieG, I've seen this happen quite often and it has happened to myself on one or two occasions.

It is basically quite simple. For your .ORG Domains simply go to the website of the official registry www.pir.org and do a WHOIS-Lookup for your domain. The WHOIS result will show who the sponsoring registrar is.

Simply copy the WHOIS and post this to the registrar who says that they are still the current registrar and ask them for a statement or they should prove otherwise. This has worked in the past.

It is good that StarGate responded quickly and was willing to help immediately.

Is this a problem? This happen to me when i transfered some domains from Registerfly (enom) to my enom account. I had to contact RegisterFly support and they removed the domains i had transfered from my RegisterFly account domain listing. (I found out the domains were still listed at Registerfly when i received a renew notice for those domains from them...)

I suggest you contact your old registrar and ask them to remove the domain(s) you transfered to the new registrar. (and do what rojole said if they are both officialy telling you the domain is with them)

Thanks for all the replies. I've PMd Stargate and I'm sure it'll get taken care of.

Thanks again

in future use www.internic.net/whois.html or www.pir.org to know the domain with which registrar exactly.

thius is very common with some companies but they tend to fix their system on the long run.
