View Full Version : ipowerweb - worse i encountered
| 3 days ago i tried to register a domain name for one of my customers from ipowerweb. i recieved no confirmation email on my registration, and no setup option for continuing.
after talking twice with their support, they suggested me to send an email to billing, which i did, and did again with no reply whatsoever.
i tried their live help again, and they said it will be done in the coming 12 hrs.
well, i just recieved an email from them (after 3! days) saying:
Thank you for your recent web hosting order. Unfortunately we are unable to process your order at this time due to verification. To proceed with the activation of your account, please give us calls at 1-888-511-4678 opt 3 billing department to verify that you have placed this order.
after3 f****** days!
this is causing me trouble now with my customer, he isnt so happy waiting for to long and i think he is right.
to me it caused a big headache and lost me much valuable time.
the good thing is that i found out that they are crap before registering their Reseller Program they have, that would have cost me to probably lose all my hosted clients with them.
sometimes, i truly dont understand how some companies work...... |
mdadnan 09-23-2004, 05:54 AM well.. have you confirmed with your bank if your card was charged also if the domain is still available. If card was not charged and domain is available you can safely move to another registrar. |
| thanks mdadnan for your reply,
i will probably do that, but i am still waiting for some reaction from their billing team, so i wont be billed twice, and that will cause me more time waste and hastle |
dmaven 09-23-2004, 10:33 AM Another example of what happens with going with loss leader registrars. Spend the extra 2-3 and go with a real registrar |
arent they a real registrar? they advertise themselves as so (i think).
its a pitty that there is nothing we can do about bad service like this.
this gives a bad reputation for the whole hosting comunity.
btw, no reply yet..... |

No, they are a reseller for opensrs |
would you reccomend hostgator? |
paragonx5 09-23-2004, 04:37 PM I agree that ipowerweb has realy bad customer service, I had an account with them 2 years ago and I almost had to threaten legal action if they didnt cancle my subscription |
btw, no response yet...
i sent a cancelation email to them as well.
......no response yet. |
dmaven 09-23-2004, 08:18 PM You can always contact the parent registrar is all else fails |
tiggee 09-24-2004, 12:20 AM $7.95 per month for hosting and free domain registration. :stickout:
You would think that a company that charges all of this money would have the best support in the world.
Honestly... If any domain or purchase could cause a lost of business then the general rule of thumb "You get what you pay for" is a good rule to live by.
Never have your business rely on a $7.95 month hosting company. |
Bashar 09-25-2004, 03:20 AM i think they are enom resellers not opensrs's ?
i'd say go with namecheap or registerfly more popular enom resellers and trustable |
thanks, will keep in mind, for now i will continue with godaddy till they mess up :) |
