Can anyone compare the speed and network facilities of Alabanza and VDI.

Thanks

Well at the moment Alabanza has total bandwidth of OC12 made up of three OC3 lines.

VDI has a couple of DS3s by the looks of things and is installing equipment and whatnot for a couple of OC3s and maybe an OC12.

Ive never heard of speed being a issue with either of them so they must have preety good backbones. ALabanza has had some problems recently, you may want to do a search on them.

From what I have heard and saw for myself is VDI is faster.

Just look at a hosting company hosted on VDI, and then look at one that is on Alabanza..believe me, you'll notice a difference.

That is not true.

VDI is much slower than Alabanza.

Can you post where you "heard" and "saw" VDI is faster than Alabanza?

You can always go to http://www.tracert.com and do some research

We are proud of what we have achieved over the last 3 months and it's getting even better.

Well we just moved from Alabanza to the VDI noc and all of our customers keep telling us how fast the sites are now.

Also when I do a download on to the server using Lynx it is always about 4 times faster on VDI than Alabanza.

We also moved from Alabanza to VDI, and at home (using road runner) I notice a moderate to big difference while uploading and downloading files, I get 1.7MB sustained with no problem (that's as far as my cable modem has gone :)

I can't comment on the comparison between Alabanza vs VDI but I can tell you that my server at VDI (UltraspeedUSA) is substantially faster than my server at DI. Traceroutes to the two servers consistently show less hops and better response times to VDI. :)

hmmmmm...i don't know about that. I just checked the response times of Alabanza and VDI and Alabanza seems to be better by just a few 2 or 3 seconds. With the very narrow difference, i gues one will focus on their support, uptime and price offerings. Albanza seems to be on the down side on both relative to VDI...

People always post about how alabanza has more bandwidth, it doesn't matter VDI is faster, because of the fact that they have less customers and crowding on there server. It doesn't matter if alabanza has an OC-12 they have way more people to share the lines between. It also matter what location your clients are in for the speed they download. But on a good day visit http://www.internetweather.com vdi should be faster anywhere in the nation.
