i saw that smartermail 2 just came out and it looks like it has a lot of great features. I currently use mailenable pro but would like to hear from someone who has had hands on experience with both mailenable pro and smartermail 2. is it worth making the jump from ME to SM?
currently a few problems i have with mailenable are - limited spam filtering features, i have been unable to integrate any antivirus software (I just use norton realtime protection for the whole system), i often get message delivery delayed notifications and my bad mail folder always has mail in it and i am not sure why.
some of the problems i have with ME may be due to my lack of in depth knowledge of how it works though, but if SM is easier to run/understand then it may be the better choice.
any advice?

I have not used MailEnable but did help someone install it. I was not that thrilled with it. We use SmarterMail (got a discounted license from http://www.helmtastic.com). All the clients love it & when I screw something up, I can always call them :) Fantastic support

I have my hosting thru Corey here on http://www.merchantaccounts4less.com - My employees and myself really like SmarterMail. The SmarterMail & SmartStats were one of the bigger reasons that we decided to move everything over to him.
SmarterMail is very easy and the content filtering is great

Hi,
In our servers we have SmarterMail(3 and 4) and Mailenable Pro.
Both of them are good enough to be called a reliable mail server. In my opinion as an administrator (and sometimes as a client) there are some important parameters that we should be aware about them in SmarterMail and Mailenabe pro:
1- Web-based management :
Both of them support this feature, but SmarterMail web-based management tool is very powerful. Statistical reports for each box and domain based on date , ... helps you to control everything. There are many good features for SmarterMail web-based management tool that you should work with them. This part can be considered as a weakness for Mailenable.
2- Spam and content filtering
In Smarter it's is easier to control filterings and all issues about spam. The reports are brilliant. In Mailenable you have different options to control spammers and set the policies for your server, but you can't manage your server for conditions that your client sends out spam(At least, I didn't find anything for it in Mailenable)!
3-Webmail
My clients love Smarter because of its webmail. They didn't find maienable user friendly and good-looking!Different settings in Smarter (box level) let all clients to change server settings for their domain.
4- Control panel support
You know, with Mailenable I should always control config files in order to be sure that files are correct and are not corrupted! In many cases CP can't manage Mailenable correctly (I know it's about CP problems)
5- Installation
Both of them are the same!
6-Support
Mailenale supprot is wonderful (email , utilities, patches, forum,documents,...) , but with Smarter in many cases you find it insufficient (You must pay for it).
7- Management
It depends on your priorities,I think you are powerful when you can manage everything. Both of them are good enough. In some cases I prefere Mailenable : service management, connector management and monitoring and log management. For statistical reports, spam filtering, box ,domain and server management I like the way that Smarter works.
