I am a shareware author. I want to change my hosting recently.
But I don't know which is the very one.
I need:
>=50M Disk Places for Web
>=50M Disk Places for Email
10 email account
ASP and access support ( MySQL is OK, but I will learn it first~~ )
I current web is http://www.iProgramDev.com I want to know the speed of it.

How about the tera-byte.com (no smtp >:\ ) and myhosting.com?
Or others?

Maybe someone should start a web hosting provider specifically offering services tailored to the needs of shareware authors. :)

Great idea, since I am a shareware developer myself I guess there acutally is not much so special about it:

- allow for custom dll registration ( typically used for keycode generation )

- maybe offer customer two sites ( for placing download files ) in different datacenters

Of course it would be cool to offer some scripts with all accounts, such as a download tracker

Well of course it will cost to mirror the files, however I think a typical shareware author would not have too many files, so maybe 5 MB or 10 MB would be enough.

And bandwidth costs is of course calculated on both sites together.

Everything costs and I would of course not give it away to anyone for free. Also the download file mirroring could be made an extra option.

Couldn't you try download.com or tucows.com ? If you PM me, I might be able to host up to 15mb of files for you :)
