View Full Version : New to Domain Reselling
DChang 09-22-2004, 02:06 AM | Hey everyone,
I'm kind of new to the domain name reselling business. I'm currently a web host but I'm thinking of adding domain registration services to make it easier for customers new to web hosting.
Where do I start?
What are the best providers?
I'm looking for a reliable ICANN accreditated provider of domain reselling services for a low setup fee.
Also, how does the domain operations for my clients will work? Do they provide the scripts?
Thank you for your time. |
Bashar 09-22-2004, 06:10 AM enom reseller program is the best option for you :)
scripts can be something like dramsystem.com or modernbill.com can do the job pretty good. |
cavinti 09-22-2004, 06:22 AM | Yes enom is a great choice and you can just ask here for a free $8.95 enom reseller account.
As for a script i recommend whoiscart.net for their cheap all around system. Also through whois cart member section you can get a free $6.75 directi account. |
sellkraft 09-22-2004, 07:10 AM Directi is an option worhwhle, they offer domains at 6.99 dollars with no volume commitments, billing is integrated into their administration interface, you can just bind to a payment gateway, entry only at the cost of 10 domains.
I have had no problems with them, support is good also. |

That sounds great, has anyone had any problems with buying a $8.95 enom reseller account from here or that $6.75 directi account from whoiscart.net? (eg: fraud or other problems) |
mdadnan 09-22-2004, 11:36 AM Whoiscart.net has a deal with Directi so as soon as you buy their script you are eligible for $6.75 pricing. You can also get $6.99 pricing by submitting initially $75 that also goes to your domain registration at www.Directi.com.
Also eNom has a much better (Stable) interface but they will require $100 initial deposit that also goes for domain registrations. Initial prices starting at $8.85 and I would still recommend an Enom account. |
AbsolutelyFreeWeb 09-24-2004, 08:01 AM wwd gives you good administration interface and lower price than eNom. www.wildwestdomains.com (around 7.50 for coms compared to 8.95) costs 99/year |

After you factor in the $99 would you still say it is cheaper? The domain business is very competitive. If I remember correctly you stated this yourself a month or two ago. What I am trying to say is you can't always look at the listed price per domain. You need to take a look at all your costs (i.e. $99 annual fee) to find out what the true cost per domain will be before you sign up for any reseller program. |
seekhosting 09-27-2004, 10:07 AM Hi,
The domain business is very competitive.
Totally agree!
I am using the $6.95 eNom domain. Due to the keen competition, I have been selling domains at $8.75. Including credit card transaction fee and other fees, I should lose money on every domain I sold to my customers. If a customer only buy domain without any hosting plan, I lose money.
Best regards |
AbsolutelyFreeWeb 09-29-2004, 07:00 AM your fees are more than 1.80 ? oh my..
acts, yes you are right, you also need to look at wht you get, like will you be offering just domains, or does it include customer support, free forwarding and masking, good admin cotrol, free emails etc.. so when comparing price you need to first compare the service... |
Bashar 09-29-2004, 08:54 AM comparing with 2checkout or any other places its around $1 + 5.5% so you calculate it... |

Wow, with a WWD system selling domains at $8.75 you will PROFIT $1.03 after sales fees and revenue share.
Enom definitly has the most configurable/complicated system out there. Unfortunately domains aint my main business so selling them is just something that goes with the territory. With WWD I can sell them and profit and not worry about it. |
