If they ask i will tell them i am a reseller, but should i tell them up front?

I would not tell them up front, but like you said, tell them if they ask.

Don't go around "advertising" it, but don't lie about it either. If someone asks and you say "no" and then they find out the opposite, it won't make you look very good.

I think discrete mention of the fact that you're a reseller can actually be a benefit.

For instance, many with experience prefer certain features they know come with certain source resellers (Alabanza, VDI, etc.).

You can "advertise" that you are a reseller for a parent host if you can offer a lower price with the same service as your parent host.

Do you offer other services than just hosting? If so, then you can refer to yourself as a "value added reseller". You take the basic product that your host offers and enhance that with your expertise, extra support and or services.

If all you do is resell the space that your host offers then I wouldn't advertise the fact, but if someone asks, be up front. Being a reseller is not a dishonorable profession. Being dishonest is.
