Just came to me that the cheapest way to host a site without going through those dodgy cheapos who massively oversell, is to gather a group of like minded people and share a reseller plan!

I want to go for http://www.pearlnetwork.com/hosting cos they have an offer for 2 gigs at $30. If I get 10 people then that'd only be $3 each for 200 megs - Easily the cheapest here (except Whizhost who won't even answer my emails in any timely manner)

If you only want 50 megs then you can easily resell the other $150 megs cos this account has that unlimited reselling feature.

The offer ends tonight so I'm hoping to get 10 people asap. If not, then we'll have to go with Splashhost. They are pretty highly regarded here and their price is competitive but you only get 1 gig instead of 2.

I don't want to go for mchost cos of that thread where they actually 'warned' someone for taking the domain nchost.com saying it breached their trademark or whatever. Just the sort of thing that ticks me off.

Just to address this tangent (as often little comments like this overtake the entire thread), Mchost has every right to protect their name and contact someone if they feel it is confusingly similar. They may or may not have a leg to stand on, but that isn't for me to decide nor judge. If you were a long time member and a new member registered WhatDaFruit and started posting negative remarks, flaming, trolling, etc., you might have a problem with members mistaking little nice ol' you for mean ol' them, etc.

Let's ignore this and comment on that issue in that thread (in the domain names forum).

You are mistaken, webhostingtalk.com is not a free discussion forum, it is moderated.
