Seem to have fair rates to compete against paypal.
Was it easy to setup and account?

...enjoy the milk.
After having used it for some time, please post your experience on WHT.
By the way, iKobo might also be a good alternative, just in case your cow starts sh*tting on you big time.

These little alternative paypal sites are popping up everywhere, it seems some developer developed a system to emulate Paypal and now everyone wants on.....I wouldnt be too quick in joining any of these...

Time will tell how good they really are.

Be very, very careful with these kinds of services. That's my only words of advice on this. As Cash&Sol said, time will really tell how solid they are.

I would make sure that you keep an absolutely minimal balance at any of these companies so that if something bad happens, you're not out all of your money. And run at the first sign of trouble.

Yes, it says people need a system that support almost all country....otherwise paypal is good. I think ikobo is good in that way.

I did a reasearch about them... they are useful for friends but not for merchants.
They needs you to verify yourself by submitting some fax or scan copy of personal documents to them (Even for buyers) and that is for sure not good for your customers to do...

Their verification will kick up a bit when (if) they get a bit more usage I'm sure. They can always do what paypal does and verify the CC and bank account that way.

As far as their being a "real" paypal alternative, I hate to say it, but there is none. Paypal has the market cornered, and unless you're violating their TOS, they do just perfectly. Then again, if you violate their TOS (or any company's TOS for that matter), then, of course, there's going to be reprocussions.

I think people need to step back and actually view what paypal's doing in the light of what they're doing. Paypal runs a funds transfer site, a processing company as it were. As such, they've got to be strict on certain things, as would any. For instance, gambling, porn, both not acceptable for paypal. Why? Mainly because the fraud rates for those (both) have to be through the roof. If they find you violating their TOS/AUP, then yeah, you have something to worry about, if they don't, then you're allright.

Paypal has been around for at least (if not longer than) 5 years. How long have these other companies been around for? In those 5 years, paypal has set the standards for processing, and, honestly, in most cases I prefer to do business with paypal, over direct processors, because I don't want some 3rd party knowing my cc info, my banking info and the like. Sure, if I'm going to be doing work with 'em regularly, no problem, but if not, it's got to be paypal.

I don't think we need a "real alternative" to paypal, we just need people to smarten up and start reading documentation before they agree to it ;)

Paypal only corners the market if you are transacting in one of the currencies they support for account balances (USD,CAD,GBP,EUR,JPY), and you are in one of the countries they support.

If you are outside of these limitations (if you want to bill in different currencies, or you don't live in one of the countries they support) then the market is wide open.

The only "real" solution besides PayPal that I personally would use is StormPay.

...to pay 6.9% + 69 cents per received payment, and if your bank account is outside the US, the withdrawal will cost you $20.
A bit stormy, ain't it?

I'm using Moneybookers merchant services. Quite easy to set-up even if you have to send them a few document copies, and very easy to use. Accepts a lot of currencies... The reason I use them is that they accept swedish kronor (SEK).

Mainly Europe and a few countries beyond. That's no alternative for PayPal, no way!

I agree with Ken here. You can compare PayPal to any of these new processors such as this YowCow, but everyone knows PayPal is most likely better than them. Just stick to PayPal or a merchant account, and if you really want some high rates, maybe 2CO.

I try and stick to what i know, and that has to be PayPal.

For peace of mind, why go for something else that already works fine?!

But moneybookers does not provide shopping cart. How do we
integrate moneybookers' single pay button with multiple items?

I, El-Nabi Muhammad Rasul-Allah Sal-Allah Alaii Wa-Sallam, hereby decree a FATWA, a Holy Edict. decreeing that PayPal is the most reliable 3PPP around. All other, such as iKobo and YowCow, are merely PayPal clones, newcomers who are trying to imitate PayPal by offering slightly lower rates, but whose reliability still has to be proven, or even questionable.
FATWA decreed at Al-Qa'aba, Mecca Al-Mukarrama, this day, 7 Sha'ban 1425 AH (22 Sept. 2004 GC).

Look at the design of yowcow.com - it looks like it's been made by a 4 years old kid. I'd never trust such sites - if they cant even afford a design.

Oh and about Paypal they s*ck big time - they close accounts (they call it account limitation but it's the same thing) with any reason they can think of - After Paypal has been take over by Ebay - Paypal has been closing accounts for many reasons (casino, adult material etc). Paypal is a no no for me used it 1 year ago untill they limited my account - AND the reason my account has been limited is because some fool send me a payment with the subject SEX ... i've called paypal many times that it couldn't be my fault but they just dont listen and my account stays limited - let this be a warning to some of you.. Oh and dont get me wrong - i am just saying that the same thing could happen to you.

Now im using Stormpay - even with its high fees it has the best support and very reliable.. highly recommended!

I beleive that PayPal is an addition or consider it a service you offer to your customers which have PayPal account.
There are so many people out there which have funds in PayPal and they can't get it because they are not in the US or in a supported country, these people can only USE this money.

As long as the big players like paypal continue to ignore countries like India (which btw has a huge potential) small timers like above will keep on mushrooming. But that doesn't mean that there should not be competition ? but only time will tell whether these new 3rd party solutions will hold their ground ? or will they perish as paysystems did !
