trustedurl.com 01-17-2002, 06:06 PM how much for additional bandwith?
WebmastTroy 01-17-2002, 08:31 PM I talked to him last night and he said that it was $3/GB for additional bandwidth.
$3/GB seems kind of strange, though, considering its cheaper to get a whole other package (or upgrade your package), and you get web space and all the extra features PLUS getting more bandwidth for cheaper than what you would just pay for bandwidth.
porcupine 01-17-2002, 09:07 PM Almost everyone will charge you more for excess traffic then they will in their package deals, if they didn't, why would you sign up for the packages? The other reason is, take rackshack for example, they offer 300 gigs, i bet most dedicated servers dont use more then 50, if you're buying more PAST the 300, that indicates you're one of the people putting an extra load on their network, and as a result you deserve to pay more.

Hello,
Bandwidth is $3/GB if you buy in bulk there might be a discount. Sorry about the wait on a reply.
Maniac 01-17-2002, 09:35 PM Hello everyone!
Just wanted to thank WebHostingTalk and we hope that all of our new clients are happy. The deal is still going for a little less then an hour, sign-up now. Thanks, have a good night.
trustedurl.com 01-17-2002, 10:26 PM I'm interested however this is in the TOS
"Normal data transfer at the cost of $10.00/1GB/month will be billed to your account if you over use your given data transfer. If you want to pre-pay for bandwidth overages, you will be billed $8.00/1GB/month. You will receive a notice on Thursday detailing your data transfer usage. You will have 2 days pay for your overages. If you do not pay for your overages your site will be disabled within 2 days of your first notice"
Please clarify...
Maniac 01-17-2002, 10:40 PM I am offering you guys bandwidth for $3/GB as a special offer as well. If you sign up, I can email you some TOS with the price changes. How does that sound?
trustedurl.com 01-17-2002, 10:53 PM Interesting... send some more questions as a pm
MCHost-Marc 01-18-2002, 03:04 AM MattS: I personally think its very sad if you can't come up with your own text and descriptions, simply using copy & paste and even the same punctuation.
Moderators: Feel free to remove my reply if not appropiate.

Hello,
I am not going to lie. I did see some of that on your web site and some on other web sites. We basically found good realler plans and made them into one. I don't see a problem with that, if anyone does let me know.
Mafukie 01-18-2002, 03:40 AM Hey, I could be going nuts or seeing things but itsn't:
http://pnhelpdesk.com ( which is linked on your support site)
really a script created by Perl Desk: http://www.perldesk.com ?
If so I just lost all respect for you and your business... Here
someone is provding a free script for companies to use
and you go and change the copyright...
Again I could be wrong, and sorry for saying that. But then
again I don't think you would go and script that yourself...
mdrussell 01-18-2002, 04:30 AM Looks like PerlDesk to me. I'll be contacting the developer of PerlDesk and informing him.
So, trying to sell a freeware program, and copying text straight off another website is fine, in your opinion MattS?
Let me know if you still don't see a problem, I'll take pleasure in educating you as to why it's wrong.
VhatDaFruit 01-18-2002, 08:01 AM perhaps Matt has made a mod for PerlDesk and the source code has been made public already?
Or maybe he's planning to make donations to perldesk once PearlNetwork starts making money :)
Technically, his copyright is only for the PN Help Desk name and maybe his page design? Surely, he would not be silly enough to put a copyright on a package he has no right to?

The person who installed that for us changed it without me knowing. I have asked him-and will ask him again-to add the Perl Desk back in there. I understand what you mean, sorry about that, we'll get it changed back right away.

It does say on the Terms of Use for Perl Desk that we can change it...at least that what the guy who did it said. I see your point loud and clear, we are adding the old copy right back in and the link to www.perldesk.com - the way it should be. Sorry about that :(

We are not trying to "sell" software, we would never do that. We did not copy all of the text off of mchost because of this.. Only about 4 lines were taken from there. Might want to check out other sites Mr. MCHost. Also, we has decided to take the reseller pages down and change everything just to make you guys happy. What else? Do you want free hosting as well?
MCHost-Marc 01-18-2002, 12:12 PM Thank you :)
Maniac 03-15-2002, 05:56 PM In reply to the help desk problem......
I did contact the developer of PerlDesk and he said everything was okay that I did. The new PerlDesk you have to pay to be able to remove it, not on the old one though (the one we are running). Anything else you'd like to talk about?
