Well, I am under a deadline. I need a new webhost by the end of the month. I have been kicked off of ThinkHost, and for other reasons that I wont go into (but are very extensive), I am also moving a client of mine from ThinkHost.

I need a host with at least the following:

PLAN
Unix
50 megs
5 Gig Data Transfer
50 POP3 Accounts (mail.mydomain.com)
MUST HAVE smtp.mydomain.com
Unlimited autoresponders and fowarders
Static IP Address
Telnet Access
CGI-Bin
Perl
PHP4
MySQL database(s) included
Use of their SSL certificate for free

Subdomains a BIG bonus
Extra FTP accounts a BIG bonus

Zend Optimizer a bonus
Free extra domain pointing a bonus
Website Statatisitics a bonus

OTHER
Fast
Great uptime
Quick email response, from a friednly person with that personal touch

Support forums a BIG bonus

Telophone support a bonus

PRICE
Under $15 a month

If you know of a host that has this and has GREAT customer support, then please recommend them. If you know a host that comes close to it and also has GREAT customer support, then also recommend them and I wll check into them. Thank you very, very much. :)

Try http://www.futurequest.net Great support and server speed, including the mySQL component.

My philosophy when it comes to hosting is never to look for a bargain, because you get what you pay for. My partner has two sites under Futurequest, and have absolutely no complaints whatsoever.

Good luck!

Not sure if they include all the feautres you like, but I have an account with Hostmatters and they're reeally good. Especially the support.

I'm not sure if http://www.below10host.com/ can provide you with everything you need, but they're worth a shot.

I've heard that when it comes to support, http://www.futurequest.net/ is outstanding. However, you may find their prices to be a little higher than the rest. Hey... good service costs, right? :D

Howdy Nate,

Welcome to WHT from SitePoint ;) Glad to have ya aboard.

I'll fire in a thumbs-up for Site5 - worth looking at if only for the glorious site design, of course :D

(j/k - certainly worth checking out either way!)

Matt,

I think your order form is not working.

It gave me a 404.
:) Hope that you know :)

Yea, I have been reviewing their site very cafefully. They look like a supreme choice. But I have heard a lot of stuff about uptimte being bad. And I dont want to take a chance. What do you think? And how is their suport? I emailed them at sales@site5.com like the site said to do and still have got no response after two days. Then I used the wonder desk and still have got no response after two days.

I cant take a chance on this, and although their packages sound great, and there are lots of people ranting about how great they are, how come their are so many poeple also saying hou much they suck? Hope you can bring light to my questions. Thank you very much.

Hi all :)

The order form (actually just the SSL server on our private machine) was offline. It looks like someone (or someTHING) edited the init script. We received quite a few emails about this being offline. I have since fixed the apache init script to start with SSL by default. Sorry about that.... how embarrassing. :o

But I have heard a lot of stuff about uptime being bad. And I don't want to take a chance.

I understand completely. It is true that we have had a few problems with one of our servers. However, this server has been stable for nearly two weeks now. In addition, we will be adding more RAM to the machine shortly, and have ordered yet another server to help balance the load of these accounts.

We do care about you, and we realize how important it is that your site is up and running consistently. We have recently implemented an emergency paging system. You can page all of our admins at any time, and we will get the problem resolved PDQ.

In addition, our community forums are an excellent place to talk with the staff about anything and everything (support included). The people there are just outstanding, and are extremely dedicated to their sites. You can bet that if a server is unavailable for 2 minutes, there will be 5 posts on the board, and we will have already been paged (twice or three times). ;)

I don't want to sound like I'm plugging Site5 here, I just want to help clear up some of the "back and forth" that you might be hearing on the boards. I have outlined the reason for the problems, and what we are doing/intend to do about it. If you feel that this post should be moved to the advertising forum, I would be more than happy to do so. Just so long as people know the issues are NOT being ignored. ;)

I know this isn't always consistent, but how quickly do you respond to emails usually?

Also, do you offer smtp service (smtp.mydomain.com)?

I tried emailing you that question, but I think my email is dead (thanks to thinkhost) so I didn't know if you just hadn't responded or if it just didn't get back to me. Thanks.

My friend uses site5.com ..... She says that the service is incrediable and she gets fast tech support responses. She just has one compliant they dont seem to be able to hook her domain upto everyone.net for some reason.

She is on the dicky server that is up and down a lot. But she has also said that its been more stable over the past week.

Hi,

I would have to say webaxxs.net. They have a standard account with 8 gigs of bandwidth, 400 megs of disk space, and most of the other features you are looking for. I know they also have 24 hour toll free tech support.

Good Luck.
