I was just wondering if anybody else sees the serverbeach commercials on techtv promoting dedicated servers, "Have your own dedicated server for 99 dollars" I know everybody prolly has seen them but i never watch usually watch techtv too much. This is great way and more companies should consider doing this. A lot of computer people watch techtv. If i hadn't known anything about dedicated servers , and i saw that commercial, i would think to myself, "wow, my own dedicated server for 99 bucks, ill try it" More companies should try advertising like this. I wonder how much it costs for the tv spot :)

Yes, I've seen the topic here a few times about serverbeach on techtv, granted, television advertising for webhosting isn't nearly as saturated as other markets of advertising. I would imagine though, aside from some very large webhosting directories, that television advertising would near the top in terms of cost. I honestly couldn't pose a guess on the cost, I'm sure it would vary by number of ad spots, specific run times (peak vs. non peak) it's also expensive to get a professional quality (note quality) commercial produced. 30 seconds spots from years ago, I remember charging around $15k - $30k for one commercial, so that could heavily weigh into the overall cost factor. Most companies most likely may not want to put up $30k - $50k to test the waters, as some advertising works for some companies, and other forms of advertising works for others.

Just my .02

yah, 30-50k is quite an investment to make. The commercial was definitely quality production commercial. not one of those low budget ones that play on the local cable channel in your area.

Those low budget ones that plan on the local cable channel, if (and usually are) produced by the cable company, 6 years ago, ran $10k for the spot.
