Hello all,
I run a high demand website and I recently needed to have a dedicated server. This was my first time so I did a ton of reasearch until I found oktagone.net. I had been with them before with shared hosting so I had a little hint on how they would be.
Well after this first month, I have to say my expectations have been reached, and than surpassed. I know one month may not be long but I will do more reviews in a couple of months:
Set Up This probably was the only lacking part of the service, however it was mostly my fault. The company is based in Australia, however they have a datacenter in the US. So I ordered my server on the 13th (or the 14th in Australia). Depending on how you look at it, there was a 2 day set up time. I was not worried by this because I was in no particular rush. The server was completely set up, and the actual owner helped me with my ensim log in details and howto set up the main user account (since I have never had my own ded. server)
I am able to get my entire site (except the downloads but that's because of my 56k) and just had to wait for the DNS to change over. After waiting the tedious day, it changed and I started getting tons of hits, with unbelieve able download speeds. And those speeds have not even faultered after a month.
The server is amazing, fast, responds without trouble, runs php mysql without a bug and ensim is a nice little feature.
The customer support was great also. I would always have these little questions that would annoy anyone, except oktagone. They answered all of mine under 6 hours at the most, and the problem was fixed. I believe the only downtime I had was for about 2 hours one day when they were doing repairs on their network.
So to summarize it all: Oktagone gets a 5/5 in my book. The support, speeds and even pricing is amazing and I would recomend anyone who is looking for a great webhost, or dedicated server provider to Oktagone.
