I have a server being leased to a user who has his own small webhosting company. The problem is that he complains that at random intervals the guy is continously unable to access the server for3-5 minutes, or until he changes his IP.

He states that he cannot access any service for the server until he either waits for it to fix itself or changes his IP.

I tried to duplicate any hammering that may be going on by refreshing his homepage about 200 times in a row to see if I could duplicate it, but no luck, resolves fine for me every time.

Almost sounds like his IPis temporarily being null routed by the server (or someone else) for reasons unbeknownst by me.

Has anyone similar experience with this?

Are you using bfd/apf, it is possible bfd locked him out.

Just a default cpanel install, a few minor tweaks. I will double check the user did not install bfd or apf. I do not think this is part of a base cpanel install...

Still interesting it would not lock me out I hammered on it for quite some time thinking it was some sort of brute force detection, but could not duplicate.

Well no conf.bfd exists on this system. Any other thoughts?

Much obliged.
