View Full Version : Site submission software???
webpaul 09-15-2004, 02:12 AM Hello All,
I just started a hosting company and I would like to offer my clients web site submission but I'm not sure what's popular and what's not, what's good and what's not, I have found lots of software that do submission, but not sure which one to choose???
Here's some of the ones that look more popular:
WebPosition Gold
Dynamic Submission
AddWeb
All-in-One Submission
Not sure if these are even good and recommended, please help me decide on a good & unlimited submission software package.
HELP???
Thanks in Advance
Paul

Roy@ENHOST 09-15-2004, 05:23 PM Half agreed.
I think search engine optimization and marketing should be done by hand with smart automation tools.
You have to strike the sweet spot between Submission to 5000 search engine for $10 and doing everything manually.

rackdog.com 09-15-2004, 05:42 PM Yup,
I agreed, doing it manually will take you months and months to submit it to all the top search engine.
I use Internet Business Promoter and it work greats!!
ajitknox 09-15-2004, 08:55 PM But sometimes, using automated softwares could do your customers more harm when your intention was to help them. I would say you goto a SEO forum like jimworld.com and do some research.

I agreed, doing it manually will take you months and months to submit it to all the top search engine. Not at all. Now many "top search engines" do you think there are? There's not a long list at all, and even a shorter list of actual indexes -- because most "search engines" use someone else's index: either Google's, Yahoo's, or Ask/Teoma's.
41.6% Google
31.5% Yahoo
27.4% MSN
13.6% AOL
07.0% AskJeeves
05.1% Overture
04.4% MyWay
04.0% Information.com
03.7% Lycos
03.7% WebSearch
03.1% Infospace
03.0% Netscape
02.7% AltaVista
02.5% Microsoft.com
02.3% HighBeam
Those are the top 15 search destinations by audience reach (the number in parentheses) for June (more recent numbers are available, but I had this list handy for a copy/paste, and they haven't changed much).
Submit to Google and Yahoo, manually on their sites for free, and you've submitted to over half of those. None of the rest accept free submissions, either manual or using software.
Roy@ENHOST 09-16-2004, 12:08 AM Well plain submission will get you nowhere. Especially when you are targeting popular keywords such as 'webhosting' or 'viagra'.
It is the backend work such as optimization and link acquisition that matters.

Nice stats JayC.
It's certainly a good means of dispelling the value of "submitting your site to 10000 search engines for $10".
I Might relay these stats to my clients(sometimes they wonder why we only offer a submission service to a small number of engines/indexes). Can I ask where you got these number from?

Those are numbers released by Nielsen//NetRatings (http://www.nielsen-netratings.com/) in July, measuring search engine reach for the month of June.
qualityeye 09-16-2004, 08:29 AM I've found this website to be very good for site submission http://selfpromotion.com/ . It has some very good tools and information on it.
Also if you're looking to submit to 69580609456854 sites you can go here http://www.worldwidepromoter.com/ . It's free, but the only thing I've ever noticed from it was spam.
uiswjd0 09-16-2004, 01:37 PM The new Page critic service that comes with WebPosition gold is really nice about giving you suggested feedback about what to do on your pages to increase your page rank, but it a service that you have to subscribe too. If you have the budget and the clients its problably well worth the $100 a year
atservers 09-16-2004, 01:40 PM I wont suggest you to do submissions by any software at all.
Because 9 of the 10 search enignes requires to have your site submitted by hand, or you must fill in a confermation code and that kind of stuf.
