I filled up an application here at a place named Eryxma Networks in Kingwood, TX and I applied for tech support for this new hosting company. And well the day after they hired me for $19.50 an hour and gave me a labtop and they will pay for internet access to some tech support when I get home from work. The company hasn't opened, it will on the 18th and I start on the 17th.

How much does tech support techs get payed?

This means I have to stop wasting my time with my dear ol nintendorks.com :(

Nintendo will be missed for me...

It all depends upon your skills and technical expertise. If you feel that you might be ripped, what would you expect to be paid?

I never worked for this much before, but the owner seemed to like our website : Nintendorks.com and wanted me to move it to their servers.
Also well I don't do anything at home, and the last time I has a physical job was like 2 years ago. I was employee #14 I guess I was one of the lucky ones, I thought I was #7 but looking at my new ID it is #14.

IS that $US 19.50?? That's a kick arse rate. I guessing you'd be pretty young cos you haven't worked much before.

Here in Canada I could have a job at McDonalds and get paid like $7.00... I forget what the minumum wage is here in Canada, but it means that they'd like to pay you less but the goernment won't let them:D :D

anyways 19.50 US is a veeery good rate

What's the conversion rate for Canadian dollars these days? In Australia, we're half an American :bawling:

Hell, I've run my own host for two years and don't get that.

(From hosting, anyway... heh)

That is what a very small % of people down here earn PER DAY!!!

It's no wonder tech costs kill me! What most companies charge per hour, ie. $100, is what the average person down here earns in half a month. The above average person will earn about 2 to 5 times that per month. But I'm not one of them :bawling:

So, has anybody got a job for me? :D

... I'm gonna go and back my bags so long...

Congrats on the new the job. I think that rate is very good for just starting plus it is an excellent resume builder if you choose to look elsewhere in the future. In comparison to the market I would say you are getting above average wages for a tech position at least for my area on the east coast.
