Hey everyone!
I have a really crazy issue here...
I have 2 servers 1 as backup and 1 as the main server. Both the server are at different locations. When I did the DNS pointing for all my websites, I made sure it is pointing to the main server and then to the backup server. (in the DNS record)
1 ns1.MAINSERVER.com
2 ns2.MAINSERVER.com
3 ns1.BACKUPSERVER.com
4 ns2.BACKUPSERVER.com
My biggest question is why is it that everytime anyone puts in the address, it points to my BACKUP SERVER as it likes... most of the times it is pointing to the MAIN SERVER but when it likes, it points to the backup server. Is there a way to remedy this?
Does the DNS record matter which is 1st and last or does it choose at random which DNS to use and etc?
I seriously am having a really really BIG headache here. Can someone tell me a remedy to this issue?
I don't want the sites to be down if my main server goes down, that's all that I want. Please help if you know how to overcome this problem. Thanx guyz.
