Hi all, I am just starting to get the servers online for my hosting company and am looking for a nichie in the market. I'm have done some research and found that there is very few hosting companys that use any load balancing, what's your take on this?
Thanks

Load balancing to reduce load or for redundancy?
Either way, most company's don't use it because its not easy to implement. How do you plan to sync dynamic content between the servers?

Hi, I'm using Windows 2003 with Application Center 2K, I have used it for a number of years and never had any serious problems with it. The only problem is that clients can not use an access database or any thing that will write to the disk itself.

XO Communications actually has a patented method of using load balanced webhosting servers. It is a unique setup, and they've patented it. How do I know? I work there :)
They are the most stable webhosts I've ever seen or used.

Well, I suppose to know that, I need to have something to compare it to. Unfortunately I've not seen other hosts whom use the redundant load balancing servers for webhosting. XO's website I believe has more information on the Hosting platform. I personally work in the Complex Care department, (we maintain multi-market customers, high end data and voice services).

We ( Servage ) have been using clustered servers for our web hosting platform for quite some time now – with great results. We have been able to completely remove the need for downtime even when systems are upgraded.
We have developed our own technology as we could not find any commercial systems which satisfy our demands for flexibility. We have spend allot on this architecture but it have defiantly been well worth it.
