I am working on a site for a client and I was wondering if you knew any way to get them a hit counter that will not register a hit when the client visits their own site. Is there a way to have their IP be known so that they are not counted as a hit?
Thanks a lot!

I did this once before using a php counter script. I'll try to find it. But if I can't you can google search php counters and you might find out a way.

I would really appreciate it if you could find it for me. I will look as well but I never seem to have luck with that type of thing. I'm not a good google'er. :(

Im preety good at php, but all you are gonna need to change in that script is the link of your site, the mysql data if it has any, and the IP of the client.... preety basic stuff

Anyone who could help me on a personal basis, could you please email me at Dana.Christine@comcast.net?
This board is not letting me send PMs for some reason and I really need to figure out how to do this VERY soon. Thank you so much everyone.

what are using? Do you have script allready? If it's asp I can help, just write a cookie with stripped IP numbers, and then don't count the client based on that number...

digitalbliss,
my brother's counter service www.whatcounter.com can block the owner being logged through the use of a cookie, quite easy, in the control panel there's a "don't count me" button which installs the cookie and voila :)
