Been trying to figure this out but to no avail,

currently has an account on a hsphere account on a reseller account on another server.

Say, I need to shift this account to my cpanel dedicated server, what do I have to do so that there will be no down time for that particular account mail?

Do I edit the MX entry or something?

Can any kind soul gimme some advise on this?

Well c3uc3, as bad as it may seem, you might have to endure either a few lost email or a few minutes of delay.

All you have to do is Backup your home directory from the reseller account and upload it to ur dedicated server. There's not much choice in that as far as I know.

After uploading it, you are most probably going to change the DNS server to point to your dedicated server. This will happen in a few hours (to propogate). Then you're all set. I don't really know any other ways that the service will not be interupted.

Thought there might be a way to keep it zero down time for transfer of domain from one server to another for one single account but thanks anyway!

then what will you do if you have, say 50 accounts?
do you have to download them and then upload them to to the new server?

You would simply request that the web host would make backups of each users account, it is a lot easier that way and it doesn't take them that long.

If you are trying to get accounts off of a dedicated server you own, you simply make backups of each account and send them to the new server and un-pack them.
