I really would like to make my forums look like these and I would like to know what combination of templates you've used to achieve this look.

So basically WHT is using a custom template which is not publically avaliable so you cannot make your forums look just like WHT.

I am guessing he is talking about the vbulletin template. All you do is add a table to the dooter template and there ya go it willl appear on the right of your forum. If you want it to appear on the left of you forum then place it in your header template.

So is there no way to just download one of the templates available on the vBulletin forums to change it to this style?

I don't think so. The beauty of the template system is that you can add and move blocks of stuff all over the place and create your own unique look (to a degree).
