Hi,

Just got a New server wonder if anyone cud give me a hand on something

1) I have one base IP and 5 Usable IP addresses

in WHM>Edit Setup > Main Shared Virtual Host IP:
Do i put my Base IP in there or do i pult all Usable IPs?

if yes in what format?
something like this?
202.1.1.1, 202.1.1.2 etc?


2) Same Again WHM>edit Setup

In Primary Namsever Box

i put my own namsevers i.e ns1.whatever.com

I then went and press "Assign Ip addresS:

i get this message:
Sorry, the nameserver ns1.whatever.com already has the ip 205.209.146.10 assigned to it.

What i did a few hrs ago i changed my Domain name DNS Entries to the New IP address..the 205.209.146.10 is my old IP? Why do i get that message? do i have to wait for it to kick in?

3) WHM>reseller Centre> choose a REseller>Edit nameserver/priviledges> In Primary Nameserver when i enter an namserver for my clinet reseller When i "assign IP" i get

Nameserver Ip Assignment
Sorry, you are out of ips to assign as nameservers

how is this so?

i have 5 usable IPS that ive not used up yet!¬

4) how comes i cant seem to access any sites on my server via http://the.ip.add.ress/~username

my Server has not fully kicked in but acconts are set up? surely u shud be able to access the Accounts via the username?

any help wud be greatly appreicated!

1. Base main IP.

2. You have 5 IPs right. Add all the 4 remaining IPs first. Then you will get 4 free IPs. Then set name servers.. like NS3.WHATEVER.NET --ASSIGN ONE IP , NS4.WHATEVER.NET --ASSIGN ONE IP.

Just note down what IPs it assigned. Don't worry about IP assignment.

3. If you change the registration details then you have to wait atleast 2 days for COM , NET DOMAINS . BIZ domains will come online with in 3-10 hours.

How you know your Name server s are active?. Just ping NS3.WHATEVER.NET AND NS4.WHATEVER.NET And ping has to reach your server and your server has to respond. Then only you can work with that name servers.

4. First add IPs. Then reboot Apache , BIND. . PING ALL IPS AND YOU HAVE TO GET RESPONSE. Then create account. Then you can see http://IP/~user is working.
