I have been watching this forum while researching hosting companies. I was disappointed to read about problems with Webexpose.net. I was almost ready to go with them, but never heard back from them in response to an email with a few questions. So I am hunting again!

I have a question about Domain registration. If the hosting company does it for me, what should I be aware of to make sure I keep control of my domain name? Is making sure it is registered with my name and address enough?

Cat, if you know what domain name you want, register it yourself now. It's very easy, and you'll know you're the registrant and own the name. I just tried http://www.000domains.com/ for a domain and it was easy and painless, and much more clear than registration with Network Solutions. There are other registrars people like, but I don't have any personal experience with them.

Deb was right, you need to register the name yourself, any registrar. I used weblaunching.net, so when I had problem with webexpose.net, it didn't matter to me to switch to another host, just change DNS server and a day later, all set. Good luck.

P.S webexpose.net still hasn't cancelled my account yet. I've checked the IP that they gave me. I start to worry about the money they charge. :(

Have you tried http://www.uhal.com?

Funny how it re-directs to a parked page hosted by *****.com.... Which happens to remind me of a certain individual trying to sneakily promote his site again.
