Hi,

We are looking to redesign our website (located at http://www.foodrelief.org ). We are a nonprofit charitable organization feeding poor children in third world countries. We are unable to give much, but if we use your web design, we will give $100 prize.

We only require the front page to be done at this time. We like our logo, so we would plan to keep it in any future page (unless you can come up with a better one).

There are plenty of pictures in our photo section in case you wanted to incorporate a picture into the design.

We want to remove all the flash from the site, and particularly we want to change the left menu box. We would prefer something graphical with just the link headings and not descriptions. Likewise, the two boxes "Link to us" and "tell a friend" can be removed and those links can be put into the left menu bar at the bottom of the list.

I will also be working to redesign the site myself, so there is no guarantee we will choose your work.

You can keep the sample page semi-generic, you dont have to match every word we use. Just "Link 1", "Link 2", "Report 1", Report 2", etc.

To give you a rough idea, I'm looking for something that is more colorful (light blues), and some colored tables or something to get rid of all the white space (especially the bottom half of the page).

Thanks to anyone who can help.

A worthy cause. Good.

What we can offer is our 8-page special which is worth $100.00
It includes a FREE logo design.

But, if you like that this will be a contest, sorry, we don't have time for competition right now.

:)

Hi,

I am interested in this as its a good cause. I also need a good web site to enter into a web design competition. Would it be possible to use the design I create for your site, if you decide to use it that is?

Also, how long does the competition last? I cant start it until January 21st.

Regards,
Martin

Certainly you could use it for any competition,e tc. The contest will last a few weeks at least. I don't think anyone will be beating down my door to make us a website. :)

But, like I said before, we may not use it if it isn't better than what I can come up with. I am not great, but I can make a semi decent page. So I don't want anyone to feel bad if they put in a lot of work and don't get chosen.

Hi dsj,

Could you tell me what the font is you used on your logo, or send me a high-rez version?

My e-mail is Douglas@redmelon.net and my site is at http://redmelon.net

Douglas

The logo text was made with an online generator at:

http://www.webgfx.ch/startwebgfx.html

The second menu item, "Try-o-mat" was what was used. In there, a font named "Romeo" was selected. I checked various PC fonts named Romeo, but they don't match the font from this site.

In case anyone needs it, I have the logo in Adobe Photo shop format with each layer distinct. The quality will be higher.

Just an update. I have received a few submissions, and I have finished my own redesign as well. For the time being I have put up my new design. If you think you can make a better one, give it a shot. I will wait a few weeks before deciding.

I don't mind doing a site for you but not in a contest. What if I lose I don't get paid. No point.

Here is mine. It is not the best thing in the world but it is what you're looking for I hope. Let me know what you think :).

This is to Forlorn above:

Have you ever heard of the phrase "a good cause?"

Not everything in life is about money you know.

I finished some other work I had to do DSJ, so I will make something for you tonight or over the next few days. You can use it if you want and keep the $100 for your charity. :) I am sure the people you help need it more than I do.

I'll post something soon,
Martin

No website is ever a waste of time, whether you're paid or not - it can always be put to one side and either sold as a template, or used on another job. It can also be used to boost a portfolio.

As Martin said, not everything is about money.

I might try and put something together if I have time.
