I need to set up my email under Cpanel. So I go to the Change Default Address section.

What is considered the normal protocal to pu in the default address?

Do people use: web@mysite.com

Or what do people do?

Then of course there is the section for setting up email accounts.

Any advice?

Well its totally your wish which mail address do you wish to have as default mail address. Many people use webmaster@domain.com as their default address. Anyway, ultimately it depends on you !

To be frank, we typically advice our clients to :blackhole: default email address now and create the emails or forwarders they need (webmaster@ postmaster@ sales@ user@ etc)

This is after a few incidents where we get spam attempts to guess the address book.
