I personally don't know about hostonce, but there are pretty of discussion about unlimted resources on webhostingtalk.com, why don't you search the board for more information? Peter mewbad 01-13-2002, 01:36 AM I dont recommend them. First I am not a web hosing provider. One of my friend's website had been delete by them with no reason. They didnt send any e-mails to my friend. Also before my friend tried to set a a sub-domain and they never reply to him. They coustomer service are bad. That's all I want to say. No host can offer unlimted bandwidth or webspace. goodtimez 01-13-2002, 08:15 AM Hello everyone! I have read countless unpleasant comments and reviews about hostonce. Notwithstanding these comments and reviews, I decided to give hostonce a try simply because I felt I had very little to lose since I am not hosting a commercial web site. On the other hand, if hostonce actually delivers what they advertise, I would be able to provide my family and friends a site from which they can keep in touch with my daughter's developments. I have only been with hostonce for a few days. So far, they have satisfied my requirements. From a service perspective, although they do not respond to my emails within minutes or even hours (which I totally do not expect for the price I am paying), they do revert within 24 hours, which I am very happy about. As they have promised, my domain name is registered in my name, which I assume means that I own it now. Please let me know if this is not in fact the case. From a techincal perspective, I am afraid I am in no position to comment. I am a complete beginner at web hosting. I am only familiar with the basic functions of the Microsoft Frontpage web publishing software. I have not, and I do not know how to, set up a forum or a chat at my web site. I guess my requirements are rather simple. Nonetheless, I do require lots of disk space for publishing photographs and videos of my family (at the moment, I believe the size of my web site is about 200Mb). In this respect, my experience with hostonce has been excellent. All of my photographs and videos have been published on my new web site without a hitch. In my opinion (which may not count very much since I do not have very much experience with web hosting), the upload speed was also great. I appreciate the fact that disk space and bandwith cannot possibly be unlimited. But I am hoping that the tolerance level should be relatively high (since they dare to make such claims). My account may be terminated tomorrow for all I know, but for now hostonce is serving my purposes. To summarise, I am not recommending hostonce to anybody. I cannot possibly recommend them since I have only been with them for a couple of days. At the moment, I can only share my very limited experience with them. However, if their current level of service persists, I will most certainly recommend them to anyone who shares my requirements for a web site. Different webmasters have difference requirements and, accordingly, will be satisfied with different levels of service. As long as the services provided by a company meet your requirements and the price you pay for them is in your opinion reasonable, there is no cause for complain. I hope the above is useful and helpful. |
