Hi all, basically what I'm looking for is a low-end server which I could install cPanel on and use to learn the basics of running a server. I am not looking for all of the bells and whistles just an extremely reasonable price for a low-end box which I can use to learn. Does anybody have any ideas, apart from running a local server?

I would highly recommend LayeredTech. Same servers and same prices as Tomsyer but their support is infinitely better than tomsyer's.
