View Full Version : [PKG] Change default install dir?

Hi,

I have a question, I have a package file (.pkg) which is rather large when it installs...
My hda1 (/) fills up to the brim so that causes problems...
Now, I want it to install onto hda4 (/home)... How do I change the default install path of the .pkg...? Is that possible?

I think it is possible, though it is not a suggested solution. What I would recommend is that you move some logs somewhere else and freeup some space.

You can search for "/ getting full" and you would find many threads telling how to do it.

Thanks, I found this:

ummm... not real sure what I am doing, but I moved usr/local usr/doc and usr/share to the home directory & made symlinks to them from usr to home. That brought the disk space down from 95% to 66%.

Anyone see any problems with me moving these particular directories? What others would be safe to move?

Don't know if this will 'fix' the problem, but at least it is out of imminent danger,

Chris

Okay, now how do we do this, I was never good at these links :)
