When I look at reviews on this board, for the most part people talk about 'low end dedicated hosting' with the likes of server matrix, managed.com, valueweb, etc....

I was wondering what are some of the qualities of 'high end' dedicated server hosting?

what are some of the high end companies?

Thanks

"Higher end" would classify, imho, as:

High-availability webhosting with a guaranteed SLA.

The SLA would have terms for definition of "high availability". Typically, this includes 100% uptime for server and network and is usually accomplished with failover servers, redundant everything, raid drives, and of course service that includes instant phone support with techs that actually know what they're doing.

Expect to pay anywhere from $500/month for an extremely basic account (1gb disk/10gb bw shared hosting) to several thousand for a dedicated failover combination.

With that budget, then go directly to the data centers themselves especially the planet.

while during the past i find verio good, but don't take my word for it now since I haven't been with them for the last 3 years.
