hey people

well i purchased a windows reseller plan with DDI hosting.. and although their service and support is usually excellent, i was stuck on some issues and they r not responding to me at all..

I submitted a ticket yesterday noon, and now its the next day 7 pm with no answer... i also put a topic in their forum but no answers..

i only need to know a few things about how to start with my reseller account becoz i'm a newbie in the business... so plz any help will be highly apreciated.

1- how do we resell the hosting to clients?? and how do they login to their accounts after that?

2- is DDI supposed to do daily backups for clients that i resell to them?

3- is DDI gonna send me any email explaining my capablitlies, and all the server info, what can i control and what i cant??

thanks folks

All of this is really something that only DDI can answer.

I hope they respond to your support requests soon :)

For some strange reason, hosts always do when things like this end up on WHT! ;)

Sasoki:

Frankly speaking some of these question, you have to answer yourself, like:

how do we resell the hosting to clients??
You have to decide your marketing strategy on how you are going to sell to your clients. There are certain forums available where you can discus your marketing strategy.

Regarding explaining your capabilities, you can login to your reseller control panel in this case it should be pleas and explore the capabilities you have.

Would also suggest you to peep through "How to Run Hosting Business" forum on WHT. That will also help you a lot.

Thanks for everybody here...

Dear Harsha,

what i meant by "how to resell hosting", is that how do we actully create the accounts... is it through adding a domain name and then creating a domain user? actually i tried this way and i think its the correct way... but i just need to make sure that it is the correct one becoz its no joke to make such mistakes when u r doing business with a lot of people... i dont want to discover after a few month that what i was doing was wrong or missing important things..

i did explore a bit in the control panel... but i still had questions about the daily back-ups and whether i should do them or DDI.. (since it also has a button in Plesk)... and some other questions too...

i'm simply asking to know if there should be any sort of a welcome email to explain anything to me or should i just experiment with it myself... cuz i'm really short on time here and there r lots of things that i need to do... like preparing my business plan and website... but if i dont even know my stuff how am i supposed to do that? its a little frustrating to me.... i guess i will just wait a bit more.. !

anyway... thanks a lot :]

Sasoki

Check the support site of DDI, they have tutorials and knowledge base that will help you. Pretty helpful collection out there.

I learnt from there only. LOL

How do MODS allow some craps like this thread?
I know that if any of our customers ask about our service something like that via WHT and if we reply, they directly delete it and adding some fault points for the WHT account.
Are the MODS on WHT Treat the rules differently according to the members?

If we talk about rules, you signature has three clickable links. While as per WHT rules: Your signature: "May include two clickable links.":smokin:

I presume they are allowing it, because the guy who posted it, isn't getting a response from his provider and is calling out for help.

Granted, they should probably close the thread, and state that this isn't the ddihosting support forum, but sometimes threads slip past the mods ;)

Irony is as per rules, the host can't respond to such posts, but all other "Hosting companies" have liberty to jump all over and quickly try to draw conclusion.

Yes, I am sure your tickets will be answered as soon as they can get to it. Perhaps try again, or email them.
