I was wondering if anyone has heard anything good or bad about http://syonic.com? Their package really interests me, but I don't want to sign up with them without more info.

If they are bad, can anyone recommend another host? (Unix- 300+ MB, many subdomains, 20+ pop3 emails, several ftp accounts, personal cgi for $20 or less a month. that might be asking a lot.. but i'm poor, lol) My current host has: 500 MB, 200 FTP accounts, 200 pop accounts, 200 subdomains, plus more, but they seem to have a lot of mail problems, and some downtime. I am looking for something a little better or something that is close to my current hosts features.

skyport.net? from super.nu and bunch of crap, jeez, no way.

syonic.com is part of the horrible Skyport.net/Super.nu pyramid scam and have duped many, many people in the past few years. Stay well away from them.

What you're asking for is a lot and I'm afraid no particular host comes to mind which may fit your needs. Who's your current host?

ok, looking back at my email i do see a super.nu address. that's what cause me to worry, as i have seen bad news about super.nu in the past. thank you, i will DEFINATELY stay away from them.

Pyramid scam? That's interesting. I've found a number of similar sites around the web, and was wondering why they were cheap (and why so much hype).

How does their scheme work and how is it a scam?

Ex-S : if you have a look at this thread : http://www.webhostlink.com/showthread.php?threadid=1273 (and follow the fidpac.freeservers address) you'll see some of the reasons. Basically all the sites under the Super.nu umbrella sell the same stuff that the parent (Super) sells, but the resellers also get 'pyramid-style' incentives if they refer more people and resell for them... And so on.

Savageangel : unfortunately PCISD does not have the best reputation in the web hosting world. They aren't that bad, but there has previously been downtime complaints and very slow support.

I'm afraid you're going to have to think of other solutions. I'll get back to you.... There can be ways around it.

PCISD was sold to some company out of Bermuda. Derrick and the rest of the old owners still work for them but they have let things go way down hill.
I dont think they really care anymore to tell you the truth, its sad cause at one time they had a good service.

You might like to have a look at http://www.jtan.com - I think they'd suit your needs and one of their reps (Vincent Paglione) hangs around quite occasionally - you can pester him with questions if you like :)
